How To Wear Denim In Winter Featuring Bardot

The funny thing I find with fashion is that no matter what the trend may be, it will always make a grand come back every decade or so. Denim, double denim, even triple denim has been around since the 70s.

My love with denim jeans, and denim in general, is pretty apparent as I am sure you have all seen throughout my Instagram and Blog posts over the years.

Denim is without doubt my absolute go to and somewhat saviour when it comes to deciding on outfits in the early hours of the morning before the kids wake up.

With the amount of options available out there though, it can sometimes be quite overwhelming when trying to find the 'perfect pair of denim jeans'. From skinny to slim, flared, boyfriend, knee rips or no knee rips. And then which colour? Black, blue, faded blue, acid wash, white, grey or print and I'm sure there is more!

Tonight I hope to help out with your denim decisions and share how to wear denim in winter.

My pick for this edit are the Bardot Mum Stretch Super High. I live in them! From day to night they are the perfect staple piece for any outfit.

Style tip #1 – Daytime:
Keep it simple and comfy. Pair your blue denim jeans with sneakers, an oversized t-shirt and leather or fur jacket. A great and easy outfit from café brunches to office visits.

Style tip #2 – What to wear on top:
A black long sleeve bodysuit or a soft cashmere knit will add a dressier feel to your denim jeans for evening outings. The black colour on top will really help the blue in the denim stand out.

Style tip #3 – Finding the right shoes:
You can't go wrong with a classic black heeled ankle boot. They blend in perfectly around the bottom of the jean creating a polished look. However, if you really want to stand out from the crowd, my pick would be some serious over the knee or thigh high boots.

Style tip #4 – Its winter, so we need layers and warmth:
Your outfit is not complete without a coat. Your denim jeans still want to be the main focus of the outfit so a neutral or black coat would be my tip. If you haven't already seen my latest Instagram post, the Delancey Coat by Camilla and Marc is a little winter treat to myself.
