The Emirates Melbourne Cup is the biggest event on the racing calendar, likewise on my calendar. As the #EmiratesInsider I focused my efforts today on finding out the hot tips for picking a winning horse and once again all the excitement from inside the Emirates marquee.
Tip One: If a horse can't run 3200m it can't win the Melbourne Cup
Tip two: Look into where the horse has just come from. If they have just competed and step off the plane from somewhere overseas such as Europe or Japan, then it is very hard for them to start well in their Australian Campaign.
Tip three: Next to every horse's name in the form guide there is the amount of prize money they have won. The general rule is the more prize money it has won, the better the horse.
Tip four: Be wary of wet weather. If the track is wet then stay away from any Japanese horses as they like to ride when it is dry.
Another Melbourne Cup Day done and dusted, See you at Oaks Day.
